About Christy

After witnessing over 300 beautiful souls born into this world as a midwife and mother of four, I believe wholeheartedly in our connection to nature. I’ve seen firsthand its ability to heal and provide us with a foundation that allows everyone to grow as individuals, despite hardship, and develop into thriving communities. I am here to serve the Vermont home birth and natural birth communities.

Midwife means “with woman” and “to bring something into being.” I love watching families I work with chose to give birth in the way that is most meaningful to them. Most women will never forget how they were treated in labor and how they felt giving birth. This is a powerful opportunity in a woman’s life to rewrite her own story of what she is capable of.

I’ve spent countless hours of the gentle reflection back to the birthing mama of, “Yes, that’s a lot of energy. Take a breath on that.” Sometimes in life we just need someone to hear us and see us and invite us to breathe.

I birthed my 4 babies at home and many people asked me if I was going to midwife myself. Nope. I fought the pain and wished I could escape somehow. I wholeheartedly needed my sweet and grounded midwife present each birth. It was ultimately grace that brought my babies forth. Sometimes, we need to do big things together. In order to surrender and then surrender a little more, I had to feel the support of my midwife and family by my side.

Within each of us is an innate ability to create.

When we take our responsibility to create seriously, there is so much good we can do in our life and so much good we can bring to the lives of others.

I remember as a little girl, having a deep desire to make a big difference in the world. When I learned about midwives, I knew that was my calling.

I feel blessed to get to help people live their best life. The world needs healing and taking ownership with the way we give birth is a first step in giving our children a peaceful foundation. I want to help you create the birth you’ve always hoped for.

Yours in passion and empowerment,

kind words…

Pregnancy is an incredibly sacred time that should be honored with care, patience, and love. It’s with that in mind that I was so grateful I was referred to Christy for my second pregnancy and home birth.

Not only does Christy listen with an open heart in every exchange - from prenatal appointments to birth and then postnatal, but she is gifted with knowing exactly what you need to hear to power through any challenging aspects of pregnancy or birth.

Christy is a force on her own, but as an added bonus she has also assembled a gifted birth team with intention and care who made me feel safe and held during the entire birth experience. If you’re considering working with Christy, don’t hesitate, she will provide you with the care, compassion and support everyone deserves in their journey to motherhood.
